9/12/2023 0 Comments Road rash 3do axleIf you have a 3DO Buy this game its a great game. This was the 1st console game that supported Dolby surround sound.įUN FACTOR-10 This is The best road rash game out. SOUND-10 Good soundFX & music soundtrack. This game proves the 3DO controller is often underrated. For a 1994 its flat out Stunning!ĬONTROL-10 this game is dead on control wise, some bikes handle better than others & have different characteristics. GRAPHICS-8 theres some draw up in the distance & fmv can be a bit gritty at times. So heres my numerical ratings for the game, on 1-10 higher is better, The races & level progressions are followed by some funny videos & really good art work. You can punch, kick, run over & weapon smack other riders. This game stands to be what call to be the best ever digital control racer for handling & consistent control.Īs a straight racing game this is a really strong title, they didnt short change the racing aspect of the game for combats sake as most combat racers tend to do.īut once your good at the game or just build money up early in the game to buy a bike that outclasses the competition it can be mighty fun just to slow down for some serious scrappin'. Theres so many crazy things that happen in this game theres always seemingly something happening you have yet to have seen before! Including nitro bikes for that extra burst of speed when your going for a high speed pass or just trying to get as far from the cop behind you as soon as possible. Save up to buy new bikes the game offers 3 classes of bikes with 5 bikes in each class. Or Pay for repairs or traffic ticket / jail fines by wrecking or getting busted by the cops. Make money for winning or placing in the race. Race through 5 levels of 5 tracks (public roads) including city, interstate, country highways & more, all with the option of taking an exit or maybe a short cut(dirt trail). The graphics are a bit dated but look really nice since your moving so fast.)īig game mode is where this title really shines pick 1 of 8 characters each with different bikes, starting cash & weight. Theres something here for all arcade racing fans. This was truely a new high point for combat & arcade style racers when this game was released! This game blew away all the arcade racers at the time, but was never an arcade franchise. Theres No feeling in the world like kicking a racing rival into the path of an on coming car while doing 150Mph!! PS: there should be few different versions of this available for download. A true classic no street biker fan should have been left without. This game was also released on the PlayStation and it blows all the other Road Rash games on it out of the water.Even after +10 years this game is fun. Nice little touches throughout the game, hilarious, interactive pedestrians(old grandma with a cane crossing the street, pedestrians yell when ran over), comical video cut scenes, chains and crowbars as weapons. The game consists of 5 different tracks, set in both urban and rural environments, with twisting curves and obstacles, each expanding longer as u progress through the game and make mo money to upgrade ur bike. Graphic wise, a bit outdated but still looks great from a distance away, tracks are interactive, very well laid out and have spectacular scenery. The soundtrack features alternative rock bands Soundgarden, Paw, Hammerbox, Therapy?, Monster Magnet, and Swervedriver.Īs the other reviewers mentioned, this is an awesome old school arcade game.It has that in ur face, real world feel without lacking any depth or playback. A total of 15 bikes are included, each individually rated in speed, acceleration, and handling. Cash earned from winning races can be used to purchase new bikes or to pay fines from being "arrested" by police. While each tier in Big Game Mode features the same five courses, all have varying lengths, traffic density, and police presence. The goal is to finish third or better in each of the five courses to earn cash and to open up the next tier of competition. Big Game Mode involves selecting one of eight colorful characters and competing in a total of 25 races on five Californian courses: Sierra Nevada, Napa Valley, Peninsula, The City, and Pacific Highway.Īfter selecting a character, players interact with competing drivers in a biker bar before hitting the open road. The former lets players enter a single race on their choice of courses and difficulty levels, while the latter is structured like a career. Two play options are available to rambunctious riders: Thrash Mode and Big Game Mode. The first CD entry in the franchise continues the point-to-point racing format of the Genesis games, with players knocking out rivals with fists, boots, or even pilfered weapons. Electronic Arts' motorcycle racing series makes its 32-bit debut with digitized graphics, a licensed soundtrack, and full-motion video cut-scenes.
